Sorry it has been such a long time since the last eLetter... I'm back in the saddle again! [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5F-O_19lSI ]
*** Media Literacy Messages for US Media Literacy Week (November 6 – 10, 2017):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTL0_tJEVD0 What IS Media Literacy?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7SzwMJ3MZQ But Wait: How DOES The Media Tell You What To Think?
*** YOU are the good news of Social Media... short video of the day! (ed. note: Whether good or bad, if we aren't on Social Media, others are. And they are telling their 'story', and in ways they want to tell it. Who is telling our 'Story' in loving, receivable ways?)

*** Social Media: "Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health?" A TED talk on the pitfalls, remedies and challenges of engaging in Social Media. (ed. note: Are we brave enough to do mission work online as modern missionary disciples?)

*** Jean Vanier has stories/messages to tell:
Seeing God in others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_xDRTXb-_o
And on bullying https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YPLrbQZkDg
*** One Tool for Telling a Story to download or post to Social Media:
Check out Adobe Spark (formerly Adobe Voice, https://spark.adobe.com/about/video) Quickly and easily create a slide show, complete with EASY narration capabilities and an easy way of adding copyright friendly photos and icons. AND, it even adds credits at the end of your video for you. Here is my example: https://spark.adobe.com/video/HkZpoJXd If I were facilitating an online class, I would have my students create with this, share on YouTube, and post in my class.
You also have the option of creating an Adobe Slate Project (web page). Here is my Halloween Special, created in 5 minutes. Like Adobe Spark Video, you can create it on a desktop computer, or via the iPad App. https://spark.adobe.com/page/GsGPnVcFpnyhN/
*** Thanksgiving Prayer of the Day https://youtu.be/omkD5fFdzFQ Show this to your students/friends and ask them to do their own prayer of Thanksgiving.
